Welcome to Year 1

Welcome to Year 1 and thank you for visiting our class page.  We hope to show you all the exciting things that happen in Year 1 so please do keep visiting us!

In Year 1, we have a fantastic team of support staff to nurture and develop your child to be the best they can be.  Working with Mrs Turner, the class teacher, we have

We have an open door policy, if you have any questions or queries regarding your child, please do ask.

A big thank you to everyone for your support in the Maths Day yesterday - the children looked great! More photos to follow......

An afternoon spent using old-fashioned toys - dolls houses and jigsaws!

What can you do in a minute? How many times can you write your name? Can you complete a jigsaw? What number can you write up to?

This week the children have looked at some photos from the artist Carl Warner who creates photos of familiar scenes using food. It really caught the children's imagination and they have written some fantastic descriptions from it.  Here is an example below.

You might like to watch this short video with them.
