Early Reading & Phonics
At Cross Gates, we are committed to supporting children to become fluent readers quickly. We recognise that reading is a gateway to learning and being able to read enables access to the wider curriculum.

We have invested in a new whole school reading scheme called ‘Big Cat’ and a new Phonics Programme called Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised. They are both highly recognised schemes that support children to learn to read and develop a love of reading.
