Watching the sunflowers grow !
This week we saw shoots growing from the top of the seeds. We also noticed a long stem and leaves beginning to grow.We moved the plants into a pot and used compost to fill the pots.
I wonder what will happen next ?
We have been reading the book Funnybones by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.
Here is some of our fantastic skeleton art work.
We have been using actions to help us remember the story of Funnybones.
Have a Look !
Thank you for coming to Stay and Play, the children enjoyed sharing their learning with you.
Thank you to all the parents who came to the Christmas Stay and Play in Early Years.
The party hats look very festive, and we are looking forward to wearing them for the party next week.
We enjoyed meeting the owls from Wise Owl Sanctuary today. We met Tawny, Barn and Little owls and learnt such a lot from Wayne. Did you know owls can swivel their heads all the way around ? We experienced watching the owls fly and even got to hold Orvil the little owl.
In the Early Years we often refer to early writing as mark making. We try and encourage children to make marks through a variety of activities using a range of resources. Children become comfortable with holding equipment in a tripod grip and develop the control necessary to begin their journey as young writers.
We have been practicing our skills today by rolling a dice and copying the pattern.
This week in maths we are looking at repeating patterns using simple shapes. We have learnt that a pattern repeats over and over again. We have been using mathematical vocabulary such as before, next and sequence. Please support your child at home with their learning by making repeating patterns with a range of resources.
