Shrove Tuesday
Year 1 learned all about Shrove Tuesday and why it is celebrated as part of our R.E. lesson. We even tasted some yummy pancakes of our own and voted for our favourite.
Science Day
We had a Science Day to kickstart our half terms focus on plants! During this Year 1 got to learn all about plants, we even planted our own, went on a plant hunt to see what we could find and did observational drawings.
Harlow Carr Trip
To support our learning of Plants Year 1 went on a school trip to Harlow Carr. First, we explored the grounds looking for different plants. We enjoyed having our lunch in a new area. Later, we had a lesson learning all about what plants need to grow and how they grow. Year 1 got to plant their own seed during their workshop and explored how old trees are by hugging them.
Bikeability
Year 1 were able to develop their skills of riding a bike.
