Create a home for a pet

This challenge is to re-use some of the items that you may no longer want to create a home or a bed for your pet.

Waste is a huge problem across the UK. The amount of waste PAPER alone that we bury in the ground each year would fill 103,448 double decker buses.

So what can we do to stop the Earth being covered in unwanted items?

  • Reduce: Reducing the amount that we buy means less to throw away.
  • Re-use: Try to get a longer life out of everything. We can try to repair things or re-use things in a different way.
  • Re-cycle: If you can’t reuse something, then try to recycle - paper, plastic, glass and metal can all be recycled.

Look at the photographs to give you some ideas.

What materials have been used here to make these beds?

Make a bug hotel from an old bottle, filled with twigs and sticks, leaves,  pine cones and rotting wood.

A box can be covered with an old sheet or even an old jumper can be turned into a comfy bed!

Remember to send us pictures of your fantastic creations – we really

want to see your skills!
