Create your own Roll Book Character

Can you turn a cardboard tube into a book character?

These were all made using kitchen roll and toilet roll tubes. Do you recognise them?

The key to it is to keep the cylindrical shape of the roll – do not flatten or squash it!

Covering the roll with coloured or white paper can look more effective than painting the grey card – to do this well you will need thick paints.

If you need help with any tricky cutting out, ask a nearby grown up to help.
