We love reading for pleasure at Cross Gates πβ¨
There’s nothing better than getting lost in a great book! π Over half term, make sure you keep turning those pages, exploring new worlds, and discovering amazing characters.
What are you reading this week? ππ¬
What a fantastic afternoon we had completing circuits with GB Paralympic footballer Roy Turnham! β½πͺ We were inspired by a motivational assembly all about perseverance and going for your goals, enjoyed the chance to ask Roy questions, and even sang Happy Birthday to help him celebrate his birthday today ππ. A huge thank you to everyone for all the sponsorship money—it truly made this experience possible and will support us in buying our new PE equipment!
We’ve been number crazy in all classes today, celebrating Number Day with exciting maths activities, teamwork and plenty of smiles. π’π
Yesterday, Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their Science of Sound session, where they showcased their learning and deepened their understanding through engaging, hands-on activities. π§π¬π
Pages turned, smiles all round ππ Our first Reading for Pleasure afternoon at Cross Gates was a huge hit!
Year 4 started their Science of Sound learning today. The rice jumped and danced, showing us that the drum skin was vibrating. We realised that when something moves back and forth quickly, it creates vibrations that we can sometimes see! π₯π΅
We are making our very own Roman pot this half term. We have started to practise the skills needed to be successful: scoring, pinching, rolling and smoothing. ββ
Year 4 are dancing their way through this half term! We are basing some of our dances on Roman battle formations which links to our history topic. As you can see, we are very fierce! πΆπ
Year 4 immersed themselves into the water cycle today. We completed a comic strip for Walter, the water droplet, after we created some actions for the key vocabulary: collection, evaporation, condensation and precipitation! βοΈπ§ Ask us to show you the actions!
