Parent Representative

Bio

I am a research technician at the University of Leeds supporting researchers to investigate genetic mutations in different illnesses and diseases. Alongside my full-time role, I am a committee member for the university Parent and Carer network as well as assisting the equality team to assess the fairness of policies within the university. My daughter has attended Cross Gates Primary since September 2024, and I jumped at the opportunity to become a Parent Governor in 2026 to support the school deliver the best experience for all children. We have a family connection to the school with several of my husband's family attending the school, reaching back to my grandmother-in-law, who was a student when it was still a middle school. Outside of my work, I love to crochet, craft and walk our cockapoo Minnie, but not at the same time!
