Easter Stay and Play

It was wonderful to welcome so many families to our Easter Stay and Play session. The children always look forward to sharing their learning environment and exploring the provision alongside their grown-ups. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the activities together and creating special memories.

 

World Book Day 

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters or pyjamas and enjoyed sharing stories with their friends. Throughout the day, we took part in a range of book-themed activities that encouraged a love of reading and sparked our imaginations. It was wonderful to see the children's enthusiasm for books and storytelling.

 

Science Week

As part of Science Week, our big question was: Can we make a cloud in a bottle?

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this exciting experiment and discovering how clouds are formed. Throughout the week, they explored a range of hands-on activities and investigations linked to weather and rainbows, developing their curiosity and scientific thinking through play and exploration.

It was wonderful to see the children asking questions, making predictions, and engaging enthusiastically with the world around them. ☁️🌈

Skittles Experiment  

 

As part of Science Week, the children enjoyed creating their own weather diaries and taking part in observational drawings of clouds. They spent time looking closely at the sky, discussing different cloud formations, and recording their observations, helping them to develop both their scientific understanding and creative skills. ☁️🌈

 

 

Visit to the Shop 

The children were so excited to visit the shop to buy the ingredients for our Easter baking. We went in small groups and each group had a shopping list to know what to buy.
The children enjoyed looking for each item in the shop. We talked about where we might find it, e.g. the fridge, the shelves.
We paid for the items at the counter and the shopkeeper gave us some change and a receipt.
On our walk to the shop, we spotted lots of things including: spring flowers, the bus stop, and some of our houses!
What a lovely morning we have had. I’m sure the children will be excited to tell you all about it at home. They are looking forward to baking next week 😊
