Y6 Spring 1

Reading: Reading Club and Reading for Pleasure

Enjoying our reading club sessions after school on Tue. We also loved our reading for pleasure slot on Friday, and we can't wait to do it again.

English: Drama

During our English lessons, we have been focusing on the novel Friend or Foe. This is all about a little boy who was evacuated from London to Devon during WW2. In our drama lesson, we imagined we were the central character of the story, and answered questions as if we were him.

Science: Heart Visitor

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak to a heart specialist this week. We discussed his job role, then found out more about the structure of the heart and its functions. Finally, we got the chance to dissect a lamb heart. It was gruesome but lots of fun.

PSHE: Managing our Mental Health

During our PSHE lesson this week, we focused on common worries for year 6 pupils. We added these to our buckets and came up with solutions to help us manage these worries.

Science: Heart Rate

In science this week, we have been investigating our heart and heart rate. We completed an investigation where we had to increase our heart rate and record our recovery time. Science can sometimes be exhausting!
