Uniform Information

Children at Cross Gates Primary School are expected to wear school uniform. As well as being practical and suitable for school activities, wearing uniform helps pupils feel that they belong to the school and behave accordingly. Our uniform is flexible to allow for personal choice and is hard wearing and inexpensive.

The school uniform consists of:

  • Black or Grey trousers or skirt, a white shirt or polo shirt, a navy sweatshirt or jumper (which can be with or without the school logo)
  • Black low heeled shoes (not trainers)
  • Black/Navy blue shorts or a blue cotton dress may be worn in summer.

Branded school uniform can be bought online from The School Uniform Shop  https://www.uniwears.co.uk/

Non branded uniform is readily available from local supermarkets (Tesco/ASDA)

We stock school branded book bags in school these can be purchased at the main school office for £3.50.

The cost of school uniform should not be a barrier in your decision to send your child to Cross Gates Primary.  Although available, we do not expect parents to purchase branded clothing.  Second hand uniform is also available and in expectional circumstances we may be able to support you with free uniform.  Please arrange a confidential conversation with the headteacher if you require further support.

We continue to ask that children come to school in their PE kit for the full day on their allocated PE session days.

The P.E kit is:

  • White tee shirt and navy shorts
  • Trainers and tracksuits may be worn for outdoor games.

* During colder weather, children may also wear jogging bottoms.

Class teachers will inform pupils, parents and carers about the days that P.E activities take place.

All jewellery must be removed for P.E activities and long hair should be tied back.

** Please make sure all clothing is labelled with first name and surname. **
